The study of Tourism at Kyung Hee University includes all the main areas such as theory, practice, principles, and philosophies. The degree program had been designed to provide a broad but thorough study of the tourism discipline while allowing students to pursue their own interests in more specialized aspects of the subject. The Department of Tourism, established in 2001, offers Master’s and Ph.D. programs. The Department enjoys a domestic and international reputation as a center for the study of tourism.
The educational objectives of this Department are:
• To develop theories of tourism as a separate academic field;
• To provide students with a broad knowledge and theory about tourism so they can work as competent experts in the field of tourism; and
• To increase students’ competitiveness in the field of tourism as scholars, government officials, policy makers, practitioners, CEOs, and those who can play a major role in the tourism industry.
